Brother's ICT Graduation + Dinner @ Uncle Sam Claypot

Attending my brother's graduating ceremony brought back memories of my own 2 years back. At the exact same location (Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre), almost the same settings, just that this time round, I'm only the audience and not the recipient. Another difference now is that the graduates get to wear the very nice graduating robe while 2 years back, we have to wear our own blazzar. That robe was rent from the school at a cost of $8. $38 for deposit and after returning, one can get the refund of $30.The ceremony stared with the guest speaker (Ms Angela Wee - ICT head) giving a meaningful farewell speech before we all rise for the National Anthem. I think that is perhaps the only time during the poly days that we sing the National Anthem. Before giving out the awards, we were shown a video clip too.

During the presenting of the awards, my mother and I waited and waited for brother's name to be called. The first round they seems to give out the awards in an alphabetically order, but my brother name wasn't called out, so I thought he had some special prize so his name is being put behind, but actually no. As it was so boring to see all the other awardees whom we didn't know, we began to make comments about their names, comments on their looks, who and who so handsome, this guy by this name so handsome, lolz. Quite bad la, comment about other people, but really nothing much to do liao. =X

After the award giving ceremony, we began our photos taking time!!! Just keep snaping non-stop. Snapped until when I finally decided to stop and grab something to eat, I realised the buffet only left some hokkien mee and cakes. BOO! Questioned the catering staff and he told me already bring in 3 rounds of food. OMG. This is the first time I see buffet so fast cleared finished. Every tray was clean except that Hokkien Mee. So only had that for my lunch.

Dinner time, meet bf and we had Uncle Sam's Claypot rice at City vibe. He said that this claypot rice is of the same standard as the famous coffee shop one but I strongly disagree with his comment. How can this be comparable to the famous coffee shop's claypot rice? The coffee shop uses the traditional stove to cook one. Even the rice has a nice taste to it unlike this. However if you talked about ambiance, the coffee shop one sure lose la.
