Sakon Thai is a halal-certified Thai restaurant serving authentic Thai food. The restaurant offers a wide range of Thai favourites and even some Western delights in a bright and comfortable setting, making it a family friendly place for a meal. My family and I had dinner at the Tiong Bahru Plaza outlet, which is the outlet located nearest to us.
We managed to secure a cozy corner seat, surrounded by vibrant artwork of Thailand adorning the wall behind us, providing a really cool backdrop.
To start, we ordered the Cheesy French Fries ($4.80) as an Appetizer, the fries were crispy and cheesy. Interestingly, the menu dedicates two pages to Western food options, including pasta, meat dishes and grilled items.
My hubby had the Fried Beef Kway Teow ($9.50) with the stir-fried noodles cooked to perfection and tender beef. It was a flavourful and satisfying dish.
I had the Prawn Vermicelli ($13.90), my all time favourite dish. The prawns were big and succulent with mushrooms added. I love it.
My girl had the Thai Style Salted Egg Fried Rice ($9.50) which we specifically requested to be made non-spicy. It was delicious and the salted egg flavour was not too overpowering.
We also tried the Thai Prawn Omelette ($8.50) which smelled amazing the moment it was served in. The egg was fluffy and savoury.
We end off our meal with a classic Thai dessert, the Mango Glutinous Rice with Coconut Milk ($$7.50). The mango was sweet and yummy. Overall, a satisfying meal.
