[TRAVEL] Hong Kong Trip Day 3 - Victoria Peak

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Time flew by so quickly when you are having a good time. We are on day 3 of our Hong Kong adventure and today we decided to take it easy and have a classic Hong Kong breakfast at Capital Cafe, which is just a short 10 minutes walk from Wan Chai station. Seeing us in a big group of 6, we were lucky to be ushered in to the big table while the rest in pairs have to wait outside. Surprisingly, the staff were friendly and efficient. I really love the classic breakfast in Hong Kong with their signature milk tea.
After our breakfast, we went on a quick shopping spree at Sogo. Bought some of the famous Hong Kong biscuits to bring back as souvenirs and also explored the supermarket and malls.
Next, we made our way to Hong Kong Victoria Peak, also known as The Peak. It's one of the top tourist spots in Hong Kong and a must visit, especially for first-timers like me. To reach the peak, we hopped on the iconic Victoria Peak Tram. The tram is a funicular railway that brought us from Central District up to the Peak but gosh, the line was insane! Luckily Kel had already bought the 2-way peak tram ride with admission to Sky Terrace 428 on Klook so that saved us some time.
The Tram has been in operation since 1888 and is considered quite a steep ride up and down the peak. On the ride, we were about to see the incredible views of Hong Kong. At the Peak, there were plenty of options for dining, souvenir shops and even a Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and Monopoly Dreams Hong Kong. We couldn't resist taking some photos outside Madame Tussauds with some of the celebrities wax figures. The wax figures looked so real. We also bought some fridge magnets as souvenirs in one of the shops.
We then went up to the Sky Terrace 428 which is a viewing platform that offers an incredible panoramic view of the city's skyline, Victoria Harbour and the surrounding areas. We snapped some amazing photos while soaking in the beautiful scenery. We decided to stay until night time to witness the city night views before heading to another place for our dinner.
For dinner, Kel had made an advance reservation at Yung Kee Restaurant in Central, Hong Kong. This place is famous for their Roasted Goose but unfortunately, we could only order one plate of this per table. Nevertheless, all the dishes we had were fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
After dinner, the rest of the group went to Lan Kwai Fong to drink and chill while my girl and I decided to head back to the hotel. It was getting late, so we just relaxed in our hotel room after taking a nice warm bath. I ended up dozing off while my girl enjoyed watching some cartoons on the TV in Cantonese.
Tonight is our last night in this comfortable hotel. Everything has been perfect, although I'll make a mental note for our next hotel stay to choose one with a bathtub, as we bought bath bombs but couldn't use them this time. My girl was a bit disappointed but I must say, the bed in this hotel is absolutely cozy. I can sleep like a baby here.
XOXO
