The all-new Disney Infinity 3.0 is coming to Singapore and this time round Star Wars™ characters and worlds will join forces with Disney, Disney•Pixel and Marvel in this new edition. Crowned as the best-selling "hybrid toy/video game" of 2014, Disney Infinity is the only game where players can experience characters from Disney, Disney•Pixel, Marvel and Star Wars and play with them together.
The Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack which will include the Disney Infinity 3.0 Base and video game software, the Star Wars: Twilight of the Republic Play Set, Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker character figures, and a web code card that unlocks content for PC and mobile devices. Other Disney Infinity 3.0 Play Sets, figures, and Toy Box Expansion Games will be sold separately.
This Starter Pack will be available in Singapore from 1 September at a suggested retail price of SGD $99.90. With fully immersive Play Sets and new Toy Box Expansion Games, Disney Infinity 3.0 promises to deliver kids and families with a wider variety of gameplay than ever before.
I attended the launch event held at the Sandcrawler Theatre and had the chance to listen to the presentation on Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition and Game Demonstration by Disney Infinity Producer, Jason Moffitt.
Game Overview
There are two ways to play the games.
#1 - IMMERSIVE PLAY SETS : Star Wars, Disney•Pixel and Marvel Play Sets introduce epic adventures and immersive gameplay. Each Play Set is story-driven and provides players a multi-level, true-to-property experience.
#2 - TOY BOX MODE : Every adventure begins in the Toy Box. There are activities to inspire players to create their own worlds in Toy Box and mini-games to play with friends and family.
Here are some of the highlights:
#1 - There will be three Star Wars Play Sets.
Star Wars™: Twilight of the Republic -- Featuring an original story set in the Episodes I-III timeline. Get ready to use the Force™ and Lightsabers™ in epic battles to master their combat and travel through four iconic locations.
Star Wars™: Rise Against the Empire -- Featuring galaxy-spanning missions to overthrow the evil Galactic Empire with legendary Jedi Luke Skywalker and Rebel leader Princess Leia. This second set is set in the timeline during the original trilogy, Episodes IV-VI and will send you to planets like Tatooine, Hoth and Endor.
Star Wars™: The Force Awakens -- This is the third set.
Additionally, fans will have the unique opportunity to play with all of the star Wars™ characters in all of the Star Wars™ Play Sets.
#2 - More figures of fan-favourite characters from across The Walt Disney Company.
This includes Mickey and Minnie, Sam Flynn and Quorra from Tron: Legacy, Mulan and Olaf, among many others.
#3 - Additional Play Sets offering distinct gameplay and environments.
This includes a Disney•Pixel Play set based on the upcoming film Inside Out, and a Marvel Play Set featuring Hulkbuster Iron Man, Ultron, and other Marvel characters.
#4 - Fully enhanced Toy Box with two new multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Games
With the all-new 3-D Toy Box Hub, it is easier for players to choose from a wider selection of gameplay experiences -- including platform, racing, and farming simulation games. Two new multiplayer Toy Box Expansion Games includes action-adventure gameplay in Toy Box Takeover and kart racing in Toy Box Speedway, where kids and families can play together.
Disney Infinity 3.0 is being developed by Avalanche Software in partnership with Ninja Theory, Sumo Digital, Studio Gobo and United Front Games, and will be available for the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system and Xbox360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Wii U® system from Nintendo, PC and iOS and Android devices. All figures and Power Discs from the 1.0 and 2.0 editions of Disney Infinity will be compatible with Disney Infinity 3.0 in the enhanced Toy Box and, for the first time, Power Discs will be sold in labeled franchise-specific packs of four.
I see many kids really enjoying themselves while trying out this game at the game stations. The amazing thing is when it comes to games, they do not have to be taught. They just know how to play them.
Have a closer look at how this works, so one have to place the figurine of the character you want to play on the game platform and it will appear on the screen. Very interesting concept.
