Amara Sanctuary Wedding Show 2014

I think I'm getting married next year. I used the word "think" because so far nothing concrete has been decided. Everything is still in a very vague planning stage. The only thing that is certain is that our house is due to complete by next year. Yes, I fall into this category like many others who ties their marriage with getting a house so before the house is ready, we must have the marriage cert. First and foremost, I have to source for a suitable venue.

Attended the Wedding Show at Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa. At that point of time, this is the only venue that I have shortlisted as I was very attracted to their Glass Pavilion. So, let me share this $38 worth of my experience at the Wedding Show for your reference if you are thinking of holding your solemnization/wedding there too.

In terms of location, Amara Sanctuary Resort might be a little bit out of way, thus complimentary shuttle bus to and fro the resort from the Taxi stand at Harbourfront MRT exit D was provided. Just have to make sure to check the timing of the complimentary shuttle bus and hop on the correct bus.

We were quite early when we arrived at the resort and the wedding show hasn't started but there were lots of booths that were set up at the lobby and we also had some complimentary homemade ice-cream (Yam, Vanilla, Coconut) served between crispy wafers.

A special display of Saber D'or was put up by this smartly dressed manager to kick off the Wedding Show. We were amused as we witness how he sliced off the bottle top with a slash from the sword. Turned out this is one of the special highlight of celebrations at Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa and that the grooms can choose to have this option for their wedding too.

Entering the Grand Ballroom. The pillar-less which can seats up to 500 guests. The room itself is pillar-less meaning guests can have an uninterrupted view of the celebration. I was once seated behind a pillar and I have to stand up most of the time to see what's happening on stage. So having a pillar-less ballroom is really great.

First welcome performance set by White Ribbon Live Music (Founder: Ruth Kueo and Co-Founder: Ashton Koh). Click here to view a short instavideo of them performing to "Just the way you are". As much as I would love to hire a live band performance, budget wise, I might have to give it a miss. Maybe I can sing myself?

Glamour wedding fashion showcase begins with a spectacular dance march-in. There's actually a Wedding Dance Preparatory Programme by Nuevo Dance Fitness

Wedding fashion showcase by The Louvre Bridal on Wedding and Evening gowns. Crystals bouquet by BLACKaccessories. Choosing a weddign gown needs much more time compared to choosing a suit. Front and back details cannot be neglected. Whether you prefer more lace or more sequins, a pom pom type of dress or a mermaid dress.

Tea Reception time.

Some of the dishes for the Chinese Banquet Menu.

After some refreshment, it's time to tour the place. From the Grand ballroom to the Glass Pavilion is a little bit of walking distance but they've provided buggy service

The beautiful Glass Pavilion, fondly known as the "Glass Chapel". The Glass Pavilion can seat up to 40 guests (or 50 standing) and is furnished with the "Louis Ghost Chairs". This is like the ideal location if you love to have some relaxed natural outdoor setting but is worried about the sun or rain as this whole place is fully sheltered and air-conditioned.

A tour around their Bridal Suite. Resort feeling and we have to climb a stairs to the 2nd level.

Different types of banquet set-up

The wedding show ended with a Lucky Draw session on stage and bf and I was the first couple to be called up the stage. Yes, we won the 15th prize which is a S$200 credits for Wedding Dance Preparatory Programme by Nuevo Dance Fitness. Lucky us!

Thank you Social Playground for the instant print outs!

Though I quite like this place, I'm still opening up my options for more Wedding Shows, viewing of hotels, etc. After this wedding show, I've also look through a lot of other venues, like hotels and restaurants and I've also emailed to a couple of them. So far, only ONE reverted. I don't know why, maybe because they just want to do big business or they are really too busy to reply me. Anyway, stay tuned and dropped me an email at chewyjas@gmail.com or bubble_gal86@hotmail.com if you are keen on my business and review or if you have any queries of the packages that Amara is having. I can pass you some useful contacts and informations.

Thank you for reading!

Bands do not just play music to make money or to make their living, they play music because it is part of their soul. They have a passion for music. souldesire.co.uk
