When my manager Ms Tay told me that she got an exclusive red carpet invitation to MediaCorp's Star Awards 2012 but she's not interested to attend, I knew she wanted me to go instead. Star Awards has been an annual events since 1994 which gives MediaCorp a platform to recognize the
contributions of performing talents as well as behind-the-scenes
production talents. In the past, without fail, I would watch the Star Awards when it's airing on TV so that the next day in school, I would have more common topics to talk about with my classmates. As I grew older, I don't really care about who wins or who didn't. I don't really watched MediaCorp's drama that often too. It's like if I'm home and got nothing to do (which is nearly impossible) then I'll watch the TV or I'll probably watch the show if my favourite artiste is acting in it.

"Join the celebrities for a night of glitz and glamor as MediaCorp's Star Awards 2012 take center stage at Marina Bay Sands and catch a glimpse of your favourite local artistes!" This is what the email reads. Sometime, I wished that I'm the one going up on stage to get the awards instead of always being the audience and cheering for others. Waiting for this chance to come. Hehe.
Now, this two tickets in my hand didn't come easy. Luckily, Ms Tay called them up to check because she have to personally go down to collect this pair of tickets on the event day itself and she can't just like write an authorisation letter to get me to collect on behalf. Somemore, prior to this event, I have another events and I was really rushing like mad woman. Good thing, my dad come picked me back from event venue, went back home and drove me down to Suntec to collect the tickets from Ms Tay first. Really appreciate!
Show 2 of Star Awards is the more exciting one. Last week was Show 1 which acknowledges the people behind this year's best production. While this week's Show 2 gives out the most anticipated Best Actor/Actress and Top 20 Most Popular Artistes award which will ends off with a post celebration party.
Me with Shu Qing, my blogger friend, do visit her blog here on her post of this event! :) Great thing she came with me and it's both our first time watching the Star Awards live. Her enthusiasm somehow makes me feel even more enthu about it too. The grand ball room was super big, we nearly get lost with so many entrance. From our seat, we can't really see the stage that well, can only depends on the projector but the atmosphere is superb.
Hosts of the Ceremony : Guo Liang 郭亮 and Bowie Tseng 曾宝仪。
Show started, all the artistes were called out to make an appearance first. Look at how our views were obstructed by the long black black thing. I think it's the live mike to capture the sound. Lucky still have one shot (3rd photo) which didn't get obstructed.
The first award was given out and I shall list down the list of awards.

For the first time in the Star Awards history, online voting can be included as 50% of the votes for the Top 10 Most Popular award. The other 50% is via telepoll voting. I wonder for those more senior and who have fans who don't know how to do online voting, won't they lose out?
So sweet of Qi Yu Wu 戚玉武's fan to put these balloons up just outside the ballroom when the show ends.
We stayed outside for awhile and managed to take a photo with 黄世南(Huang Shi Nan). Although he didn't get any awards, he still has that charisma around him. Talk about charisma, it seems like most of the artistes didn't looked or grow old one? :) The rest were at the post show party. It was a great experience overall. Congrats to the winners.
