[FOOD TASTING] THE BOILER OPENS SECOND OUTLET @ ESPLANADE MALL

Founded in 2014, multi award-winning seafood restaurant, The Boiler, opens its second outlet at Esplanade Mall making it much more convenient for seafood lovers to visit the restaurant. Their first outlet was located at Howard Road near Tai Seng MRT and I guess there are many foodies like me who always wanted to try out their delicious and famous seafood dishes but was not willing to travel down. Quoting from the founder Mr. Malcolm Hong, "with the restaurant new location in the city, we bring our famed menu and sauces to the people". Now, even people staying in the west like myself is able to try their food.

The Boiler at the esplanade mall had two separate dining areas. The air conditioned main dining hall have a fantastic and cosy ambience while the al fresco bar is a nice chill out area with an artistic wall mural. The menu can be ordered from both dining areas for all to enjoy and the whole venue can accommodate up to 120 diners!

In conjunction with celebrating their 4th Anniversary and opening of this second outlet, I was cordially invited to their tasting event however, I am unable to attend as I need to take care of my Rena who was falls sick in the morning. My husband went ahead to the tasting on my behalf after his work.

Upon arrival, he was invited to enjoy the chillax atmosphere of the al-fresco bar and was served with a fried food basket with oyster, mid-wing, fish fillet, onion rings and french fries for sharing. He also ordered a cup of ice-lemon tea to quench his thirst.

Once the dining hall was prepared, they requested everyone to go in. Everyone was greeted with an "Emergency craving kit" on their table to bring back home.

Also on the table, they have prepared the 4 different sauces that they will be serving later with some of the ingredient that they used to make the sauce.

First up, they were introduced to the Garlic Butter sauce which they used to prepare the lobster. This is a mild but flavourful concoction of garlic, cream, chicken broth and butter. I can totally imagine the creaminess of the sauce just by looking at the pictures.

Coming in second is the Tamarind sauce, used to prepare seafood like mussels, clams and prawns. This is an Asian inspired sauce made from tamarind, thai basil, chilli padi, fried shallot, chicken broth and butter. The taste is not very spicy and is great for people who does not take spicy food yet want a subtle hint of spiciness in their food.

Third course of the night was served with the Peppa' Butter sauce, a variation from garlic butter which they used to prepare a crab with. This is the buttery upgrade from the classic singaporean black pepper crab that should be on the radar of every black pepper crab lovers. It's actually the combination of the Garlic Butter sauce plus black pepper and white pepper for the peppery taste.

Finally, the spicy The Works (Signature Sauce) which can be customised to suit the different spice-tolerance levels ranging from mild, medium and ragin' hot level of spiciness appeals to diners the most. This signature sauce is a blend of tumeric, blue ginger, chilli padi, paprika, cajun, lemon juice, chicken broth and butter that are freshy pounded and packed on a daily basis for use. The dish served was cooked to the medium spiciness level. Being the signature sauce, it can jolly well be used to enhance the flavour for everything on the menu, especially the crab.

Bibs, gloves and even mobile phone covers are provided, that is how thoughtful The Boiler is to ensure that diners can enjoy their food and not be compromised by accidental stains.

* 4th Anniversary Promotion till 12 August 2018 *
