[EVENT] #LoveOverBias High Tea in Celebration of Mother's Day

"Thank You, Mom" campaign has been ongoing for the fifth consecutive year and this year Procter & Gamble in partnership with NTUC FairPrice, organized it under the theme of #LoveOverBias, recognizing the key role of mothers' unconditional love and support to their children in overcoming the challenges and biases they face in their day to day life.

Held over a high tea event at Blu Meze, the event was graced by special guest Ms. Low Yen Ling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Manpower.

"We want to honour and appreciate all mothers. They are the heartbeat of each family. They bind the family together, and create that firm and secure foundation for us to grow and develop our potential. They are our society's unique force, connecting and nurturing our future generations for the better." said Ms. Low Yen Ling during her welcome speech.

In support of Special Olympics Singapore and that Mother's Day is just around the corner, Ms. Low also paid tribute to the Special Olympics Singapore athletes and their mothers.

Guests were invited to get their photos printed at a fun photo booth and enjoying the high tea session. The main highlight of the high tea delicacy has got to be this special dish prepared by celebrity chef Forest Leong which is the Roasted Lemongrass Chicken Roulade with Mixed Mushroom Medley.

During the sharing session, two mothers of the Special Olympics Singapore athletes, Ms Doris Lee and Ms Karen Yeo shared with us their journey from identifying the special talent of their kids, finding the organizations that supports them and finally participating in the Special Olympics.

The event closed with a cheque presentation of S$20,000 to Special Olympics Singapore on behalf of P&G and NTUC FairPrice.

Being a new mom, I also received a stalk of rose from them. Motherhood is already such a tough journey, let alone the mothers of kids with special needs. Really have to salute them.
